You guys, before I get into my weekly fitness update, I am so excited to share with you some awesome news! I was invited to be an official guest blogger for the 2014 Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon! I feel so honored 🙂 As I’ve mentioned, I will be doing the 10K, which will be my first ever 10K! I am so excited and I’m finishing up my training plan very soon – stay tuned 🙂

Welcome to another Weekly Fitness Update, where I recap the week’s workouts and any other miscellaneous health/fitness-related thoughts. Thanks for helping me keep myself accountable 🙂
Monday: Monday’s workout was posted in last week’s update. (1 mile on the treadmill.)
Wednesday: 2.25 miles in 44:45 minutes on the treadmill.
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday… all off. Not exactly the way I had planned the week to go in all honesty but I am working on my official training schedule which should help me hold myself accountable. If I have it written out what I’m going to do each day, hopefully I’ll be less likely to skip workouts.
Sunday: 3.25 miles in 59:45 minutes, 25 crunches, and some stretching.
I’m hoping to start Day 1 of the Blogilates POP Pilates Beginner’s Workout soon, too!
I’m also going to start doing the #NewBodyMakeover meal plan from Blogilates (as best as I can, anyways). There’s some really great recipes included with it so I’m really excited about it!
In other health news… I splurged a bit this weekend (money-wise, not on food/calories!). I was going to get the NutriBullet, but once we got to Target we found the Juice Bullet (which is made by the same company). I wasn’t sure what I wanted to get, but Mike talked me into the Juice Bullet (and so far I don’t regret it!). The Juice Bullet didn’t have very much information online, and no reviews, so I was skeptical but it was cheaper than the NutriBullet and I was able to get a high powered blender PLUS the Juice Bullet for close to the same price as the NutriBullet. Both of the machines that I got have 100 more watts than the NutriBullet, too. (They both are 700 watts where the NutriBullet is only 600).
We made our first juice – an apple lemonade. The juicer worked really well, it was easy to use & easy to clean. The juice wasn’t my favorite (we used too much lemon), which is fine since it will take us some time to learn the best combinations and amounts to use. I think we’ll try to start looking up some actual recipes soon, too. You can see the juicer in action here:
I also made my first protein smoothie in the new blender, and it turned out really great. It was so smooth and creamy. I am excited to make a green smoothie with it very soon! We’re getting ready to test out an apple-orange juice (I found these pink-ish oranges called Cara Cara oranges that I’m excited to try).
