Weekly Fitness Update #7

I know it’s cliche this time of year, but I’m actually feeling really inspired to get back on track with my health & fitness journey! πŸ™‚ After spending the first almost-2 weeks cooped up and unable to exercise, I’m ready to pick up where I left off.

Welcome to anotherΒ Weekly Fitness Update, where I recap the week’s workouts and any other miscellaneous health/fitness-related thoughts. Thanks for helping me keep myself accountable πŸ™‚

As you can expect, there wasn’t much activity happening this first part of January. However, I did get my first workout of 2014 in tonight:

Just a mild 1-mile but it was a good way to ease back into a routine.

There’s also been a lot of great articles going around, and with all my free-time I pinned to my heart’s content! Check out my Health & Fitness pinboard for more.

One thing I’ve been reading a lot about is the importance of making small changes each day. I heard about The Fresh 20 Pledge and decided to sign up. Check it out:

I found a couple of great fitness calendars from PopSugar Fitness and Blogilates that I’m hoping to incorporate into my routine, check them out:

I’m also really loving the PopSugar #GetFit2014 Calendar & Challenge:

I stumbled upon this awesome “Love Your Body” series by Tone It Up and it is fantastic! Getting healthy is not just about how I look on the outside, it’s how I feel about myself and my confidence in myself. Getting healthy is also more than just losing weight, it also includes being “fit” on the inside, too (so-to-speak). Self love, people!

Lastly, I’m linking up with Venus Trapped In Mars’ #OperationGetFit linkup!

I hope I didn’t lose or confuse you with all my ADD-ness in this post, but I feel empowered, resourceful, and I’m just really excited about it! This is the year for finally making progress! Yes that is probably the most cliche statement ever because I’m sure I’ve said it before, but a positive attitude never hurt anyone πŸ˜‰ What are you doing to stay fit and get healthy in 2014?

  • You go, girl! I joined a gym last month and absolutely love it. I find having a designated space for me to work out in really helps me stay motivated, as do weekly classes. Plus, spending money ain’t a bad motivator either!

    • Thank you! That’s awesome as well! I agree – I have free access to a gym at my office AND at my apartment, and even though money isn’t a motivator, the convenience factor is definitely helpful. It’s hard to make excuses when you don’t have to leave the building to use it haha! The only downside is I do wish they had fitness classes, but I’m considering trying spinning and pure barre very soon!

  • It’s great to feel so inspired!!! I love that 31 days calendar, I might pick it up and start it… There’s always going to be 31 days, no point in waiting until the start of a month! Thanks for sharing! πŸ™‚ I wish I could find a local gym that has drop in classes… I have all the cardio/weights I need at home, but I love fitness classes and there’s just not many around here that seem to have much. A local barre studio, which I’m terrified of, and zumba. I’d probably go to both if I had someone local, but neither are my “thing” to go at alone
