Weekly Fitness Update

I’ve got some catching up to do (aka a two-fer)! In my last update, things weren’t going so well fitness-wise. After my first work trip, I got really sick for about a week so I got really behind with my workouts. Unfortunately, an object at rest stays at rest so this carried into the following week. There are only 28 days left until my 10K though, AND I’m starting a new program called the 21 Day Fix on Monday, so I really need to get focused. I haven’t ran in a while so I want to get that going again (without overdoing myself and causing another foot injury), plus I’ll be incorporating the 30-minute workouts from the 21 Day Fix as well.

Welcome to another Weekly Fitness Update, where I recap the week’s workouts and any other miscellaneous health/fitness-related thoughts. Thanks for helping me keep myself accountable 🙂

When I last posted, I had a rough week due to traveling, and then I mentioned how I was having a rough start to week 8… which was because I got sick. So the first part of week 8 I did very little. Monday, the 7th I wasn’t fully sick yet, so I was able to catch up on some planking.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (April 8th-10th) were off days with me being sick. Friday I just did a plank. Then I finally started feeling better on Saturday (and the weather was finally nice), so Mike & I went on a 4.5 mile bike ride down to the lake and back.

On Sunday, we went to Super Sunday and participated in the workout there (which was just a combination of a bunch of the Beachbody workouts that we got to preview).

Now we’re on to this past week… whew! This is a long one.  I’ll keep it short though.

Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday: all off days. Not really sure what happened, it was a busy week and I don’t really have any good explanation but that’s part of this process. I’m definitely not perfect, people!

Friday: I did a 5K (3.1 miles) and also some squats and a plank.

On Saturday, I did some strength exercises with my new medicine ball and kettlebell.

Then on Sunday, we spent Easter at the Cleveland Indians game, so I didn’t get a specific workout in, but we did a lot of walking and also a plank in the stadium:

Starting today, I’m participating in a 5 day plank challenge PLUS starting the 21 Day Fix (post coming soon about that) so things are going to start kicking up a notch. Spring is here, summer is on the horizon, and I’m ready to take it to the next level! I’ve been consistently drinking Shakeology for the past 2 weeks, so even though my workouts have been sporadic, I’ve still been seeing new low numbers on the scale multiple times, which makes me VERY happy. Also, in the last 3 weeks, I’ve lost 3 pounds and 4 inches around my body (with 1.5 of that being in my tummy – which is my problem spot!!!). So yeah, I’m pumped. 🙂
