Welcome to another Weekly Fitness Update, where I recap the week’s workouts and any other miscellaneous health/fitness-related thoughts. Thanks for helping me keep myself accountable 🙂
Check out last week’s if you missed it!
This week was lacking in the fitness department, but I hope to make up for it in health/nutrition. More on that in a bit…
Monday was an off day as we spent the day at my mom’s celebrating her birthday.
We started the week’s workouts on Tuesday with just a walk/jog around the pond at our apartment.
Wednesday was much better with a (more than) 5K in under an hour!
But unfortunately, those are my only 2 workouts for the week… except for another brisk walk around the pond planned for tonight.
I did spend part of my evening food-prepping for a new thing I’m going to try. In the last few months, I’ve been hearing a lot about a couple of shake-diet companies which I considered trying… however I don’t really have the money for it, plus I’ll be honest, I’m a bit skeptical… Not that it isn’t great for some people, and those I know who use it, but I just have some reservations about it.
However, I get the basic idea behind it – replace 1 or 2 meals with a protein/nutrition shake & lose weight. Obviously, since you’re eating less calories, that will most likely happen. So, I’m doing my own meal replacement shake program, with ingredients I can control. I bought some whey protein, bananas, frozen blueberries, spinach, & peanut butter & I’m going to try this out & see how it works! I’m going to try drinking a shake for breakfast and lunch.
I’ll update you on how this goes! Wish me luck 🙂
