Weekend Adventures

Happy Halloweek!

What I have to look forward to this week! #soFUN
What I have to look forward to this week! So FUN!

My weekend was filled with friends, family, food, and fun (plus a lot of relaxation & productivity).

As I’ve already posted, Friday night was a spooky fun Halloween night!

Saturday and Sunday we stayed in (mostly), which was much needed (especially after our busy last weekend). My mom came over on Saturday to help me finish unpacking and reorganizing the kitchen – which was so helpful! Our kitchen is incredibly weird when it comes to cabinet space (it’s hard to explain), so she helped me figure out what would fit in the odd-shaped cabinets best.

I also finally decorated our apartment with all of the goodies I got from Patterson’s last weekend! After we finished all of that up, we decided to try Eddie Cerino’s Casual Italian in downtown Lakewood.

We started off with these amazing zucchini planks – they’re cut thin so they are crispy and delicious!

Then for our entrees, my mom and I got the half size of 2 dishes to share. We picked these two:

And they were both very good, but I really liked the asparagus one best. It was fantastic!

Then there was Sunday.

As I mentioned last week, I wanted to start spending my Sundays with a little more intention – specifically in preparing for the upcoming week so as to alleviate some stress & free up some time. So I did exactly that!
(Also, check out Dina’s post about how she spends her Sundays, too!)

Mike, mom, and I got up early(ish) & had coffee, then went to do our weekly grocery shopping. We’ve started doing this first thing on Sundays so we can get it out of the way and have the rest of the day for doing things around the apartment & preparing for the week ahead. It’s been wonderful.

I spent the rest of the afternoon & evening finishing up reorganizing the kitchen and doing some cleaning & laundry. It felt great to finally get that task done because our kitchen was very frustrating when we still didn’t have all of our dishes & cookware unpacked, and the boxes were making the kitchen even more claustrophobic than it already is. I like when things have a place, and now they finally do!

I need to start having tea parties & coffee dates... so much excess!

I also found a beer I’ve been looking for (so I got a couple…):

And I found my cast iron tea kettle! So of course we made some tea :)

A very successful Sunday, if you ask me 🙂

Sundays still have room for improvement – but I think I made a great start to it!
