Weekend Adventures

Another busy weekend went by… always too fast. We spent a lot of the weekend still working on the apartment and relaxing, so it was very low key, but I think we needed that.

My mom helped Mike & I install a clothes hanging bar above our washer and dryer:

We felt really accomplished after this!

My mom & I spent over an hour at Lowes trying to figure out what would be best. A shelf with a hanging bar, just a hanging bar, etc. We were clueless… but we eventually got some help & figured out what we needed. The metal bar, the attachments on the end to connect it to the wall, dry wall screws since the ones that came with the attachments weren’t going to be strong enough, and a hack saw to shorten the bar ourselves since Lowes doesn’t do that. It was a little frustrating at first, but like I said… once we finished it, we felt SO accomplished.

We of course had to refuel and do a little celebrating… so we decided to try Streat Burger. First off, I’d just like to say how great their service was. Our waitress was a sweet heart, and then after our meal, a man (who I’m assuming was one of the owners, I didn’t catch his name) came over and made sure everything was great for us. So nice!

My mom & our waitress convinced me to try the Duck Confit fries… I was nervous about this because I don’t think I’ve ever had duck before, but I was pleasantly surprised. Tasty!
My mom & I both tried the Farmhouse Burger – with Ohio beef, maple bacon, tomato, fried egg, white cheddar, garlic aioli and arugula. It was messy, but we both liked it.

Other than that, Mike watched the Browns win (and saw a butt…) and I spent most of Sunday working on my extra long to-do list… which will continue into the week. Playing catch up on a lot of things.ย

Have a great week! How was your weekend?
