Well hello again, dearest readers! I seriously can’t believe that the last 3 weeks have come and gone so quickly. I have been super busy and I actually have to find time to blog again (yep that’s right, I got a new job!!! More on that later.) – my birthday is also tomorrow (what the what?!) which means the big 2-5 is here!
I seriously hope I can get back to regularly blogging again, I’ve missed it!
So what have I been up to? I started a part-time job at my local gym for some extra cash, I also started doing some freelance social media / graphic design, and then the best news of all… I got a new job! I’m so excited about this new opportunity, I’m going to be doing marketing and event planning for a small holistic health & chiropractic clinic! I’m 3 days in, and I love it! So, so grateful. <3
Besides that (which has been taking up most of my time), I had a busy string of weeks with plans every weekend… between my mom’s 50th birthday, Mike’s dad visiting, and then my pre-birthday weekend at Put-in-Bay, I have barely had time to just catch up on life haha. Oh, and if you didn’t know, I’m also volunteering as an alumna advisor for my sorority’s colony at Case Western Reserve University, and things have started to get rolling with that… they just had recruitment and now the fun really begins! It’s a very exciting time. I’m also volunteering this Saturday with the American Heart Association for their Cleveland Heart Walk, which I’m so excited to be a part of! I’m hoping to write up a quick post about that, too. Like I said, I have LOTS to catch up on. Overall though, I’m feeling very fulfilled in life.
It’s funny, I titled this post The September Effect because I’ve noticed a pattern of changes happening in or near this month. Last year, we moved to Lakewood + I got a new job within the month of September, and we also got Murphy last September too. This September-ish, I started freelancing, got a new job, and we got birds! This year also marks milestone birthdays for both my mom and I (her turning 50 and me turning 25). Although hopefully next September will have less changes, or at least different ones, because I’m really happy with where I’m at right now 🙂
However, I will admit that my health and fitness have taken a back-burner, which I’m disappointed about but am working to get back on track. Luckily I haven’t gained any weight or anything really, but I can definitely tell that my level of being “in shape” has declined, and I need to get my nutrition back on track as well. That’s life though – there’s always going to be ups and downs. So I’m not dwelling on it, but just staying focused on what I can do to improve now going forward.
