Recap: 5-Day Water Challenge

Hi friends! I posted last week about the 5-day water challenge, so now I want to tell you how it went!

21714-WATERCHALLENGE

I met my goal of drinking at least 64 ounces each day (usually even more than 96 ounces). I took advantage of my 32-ounce mason jar bottle that I keep at work to help me keep track of what I was drinking ๐Ÿ™‚

Having a group on Facebook with other members participating in the challenge was fun – Shannon even made it into a little bit of a competition. We were able to motivate each other but also compete for points by doing certain things each day like post a “Water Challenge Selfie” or an inspiring or informational image/article. Shannon kept a Pinterest board of all our images and articles that we shared, too.
You can check it out here:

I felt really great, besides having to pee a lot. I had more energy (I didn’t even drink coffee most days!) and my skin feels really soft and hydrated, which is amazing with this dry winter air. I also enjoyed learning about all of the benefits drinking water has. Check these out:

Here’s a couple of my water selfies from the challenge:

All in all, I think it was a great exercise that helped me pay more attention to how much water I drink, and I plan to continue keeping up with my daily water intake goals! I’ve enjoyed adding things into my water, too. Check out this concoction I made tonight:

Have you ever done a health or fitness challenge? Do you drink enough water in the day?

  • Awesome post girl! It’s amazing how different your body looks and feels when it gets enough water. I didn’t learn that until last year really.
To answer your questions, yes and usually! I do nutrition and fitness challenges usually monthly. I only drink water anymore too! Half your weight in ounces is a general rule of thumb that I follow. ๐Ÿ™‚ I love the photos you posted!

    • Hi Claire – thanks for stopping by! I really enjoyed this challenge and was surprised to notice the benefits in such a short amount of time ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you’ll try it out!

  • So happy you joined us in this challenge, Jessica! You were an awesome group member and really helped others meet their goals as well! It’s amazing how infectious good habits can truly become – especially when you do them with friends! =)

  • This is awesome! Congratulations! I used to drink a lot of water but now I think I’m just so busy that I forget to drink as much as I did. After reading this, I’m definitely going to try to become a little more conscious of how much water I think. After all, living in Cleveland in the winter kills my skin so hopefully this will help!

    • Thanks Alisia! I definitely agree – my skin has been SO dry but drinking more water helped! It also helped to keep my bottle with me at work so I was able to easily have it whenever throughout the day.

    • Thanks Sarah! It’s hard to know how much water you drink throughout the day without paying attention to it. I bought my 32oz bottle so now I know to try to drink 2 of those during working hours and then at home I drink at least 2 cans of LaCroix (which is just sparkling water) so it’s helped me realize if I’m drinking enough or not. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  • Thanks for the follow! Made sure to follow you back– I love supporting Cleveland bloggers! ๐Ÿ™‚

I should look into this! I drink a fair amount of water, but probably not as much as I need to. That last glass with the berries looks soooo refreshing!
