Are you looking for alternatives to sugar-filled soda drinks (or “pop” as we call it in the Midwest)? If so, this recipe is for you! One of the most important (and first) steps I took on my health and fitness journey was cutting out sugar-filled drinks like soda pop. Fruit-infused sparkling water is a great way to quench your thirst in a much healthier way.
I know it can be hard to adjust to a less sweet drink, but once you do you won’t miss them! It takes time but in the end, it’s so worth it. When you infuse water with fruit, it keeps it interesting so you don’t get bored. There are SO many combinations you can try. You can make it really fancy, or keep it simple. If you’re anything like me, you love drinking out of mason jars. I saw this infuser kit for mason jars (affiliate link) at Target and knew it needed to be mine! Plus with this mason jar infuser lid, you can take it on the go. Perfect for staying hydrated in the summer!
Recipe: Mason Jar Fruit-Infused Sparkling Water — Pomegranate + Blueberry
For this recipe, I just used Pomegranate-flavored Polar 100% Natural Seltzer (affiliate link) and organic frozen blueberries! Put the blueberries into the infuser, screw it into the mason jar lid, pour the Polar drink into the mason jar, and screw the lid on! It’s so simple and so refreshing. I can’t wait to make more varieties to share with you all.
Fruit-infused sparkling water is officially a must-have for me this summer! I like to drink Polar and LaCroix — I make sure to check that the brand doesn’t include sodium in the sparkling water (it’s so unnecessary!). There are many different flavors of sparkling water to try, or you can just use plain and dress it up with the ingredients you choose to infuse. This would also be great for summer cocktails, too – just add your favorite liquor!
