{Life Update} – Friends, Fashion, Food, Fitness, Fails, and More

It’s been a crazy 2 and a 1/2 (almost 3) weeks, but I’m back to give you a seriously massive update-style post crammed with… well, whatever I think of! And lots of Instagram pictures too πŸ˜‰ You ready?Β (PS: Sorry if it’s really random & sporadic – call it stream of consciousness, if you will…)

So far everything’s been going pretty well with school & life in general. I had 3 exams and 2 papers all due within a timeframe of about 4 days, so I was seriously stressing out for a bit 2 weekends ago, but after it was over I felt so relieved. And luckily I ended up with good grades on everything, so that’s good! I also have the rest of this week with nothing major due so I can (sort of) take a breather. I’m on spring break right now with Mike, and we are in New Jersey visiting his family. I did bring some school work with me because I figured it’d probably be a good idea to get ahead on some things while I have the free time – so hopefully I can take advantage of that. I spontaneously signed up for a wine tasting class, which I’m going to do a separate blog post for later this week. I figured it’s my last semester, so I might as well make the most of it & enjoy this last little bit. πŸ™‚

It’s getting SO close to graduation – so as you might expect, my anticipation and anxiety is growing each day. I’m so, so excited for it… but it’s also going to be a really big change. I know I’m ready for it – but sometimes it’s a bit scary! I’ve also been trying to help my mom out with getting her house ready for the big party. I have so many family members coming out from all over to celebrate with me – it makes me feel very loved. I went to the Kent State Grad Fair a couple of weekends ago and purchased my cap & gown! I have yet to take a picture of it (surprisingly) but it definitely made things that much more real. I also printed off my *6* graduation tickets for the ceremony. It sucks that we don’t get more than that because I have such a big family – but luckily Kent provides 2 areas where family & friends can watch it on a screen, and you can also view it online. Once Spring Break is over, time is going to FLY. Ahhhhhh I can’t contain my excitement & anxiousness πŸ™‚ I haven’t figured out the job situation yet for after graduation – so that’s definitely adding to the anxiety! Hopefully things will fall into place very soon……. πŸ™‚

Anyways. What else? Oh yeah, you know that Stella & Dot party I was supposed to have? Well, it was a total FAIL. I mean, I don’t really know what I was even thinking – most of my friends are in college and don’t have the expendable income to come to something like that. I really thought it would’ve been fun, and I bought snacks & a few decorations, so I was kind of bummed at first that no one was coming. So we ended upΒ cancelingΒ it – there was no point in the stylist coming if no one was going to show up. But 2 of my best friends from Kent ended up still coming down and us & Mike all went and got Mexican food… mmm queso! So it still ended up being a great night, but no fun jewelry was involved. Oh well, lesson learned I guess.

St. Paddy’s Day was pretty fun. Mike & I drove out to Pittsburgh on that Saturday to meet up with our friends Arielle & Adam. Mike wore his DIY St. Paddy’s Day Columbus Blue Jackets shirt that he made:

{Blurry bar shot}

And I wore my CLE Clothing Co. St. Paddy’s Day OHIO Shirt to rep my CLE pride in Pittsburgh!

CLE Clothing Co. St. Paddy's Day Love Ohio ShirtWe took Arielle & Adam to this great wings place a little bit outside of Pittsburgh, called Dino’s Sports Lounge! I originally heard about this when I visited my old college roommate who’s from PA and she took me there. Their Sweet & Hot wings are award winning in PA, and it was totally worth the detour! So. Good. (We went to the Greensburg location.) Adam & Arielle loved it, too! Success! πŸ™‚

Dino's Sports Lounge Award Winning Wings PennsylvaniaWhen we got back to Adam’s place, we started the festivities off with a little Sangria that he had mixed up. πŸ˜‰

SangriaWe hung out for a while and watched Justin Timberlake’s latest stint on SNL. (That Veganville sketch was hilarious!) Then, Arielle & I watched Glee for awhile while the boys played FIFA. Then we decided to head to a bar! It was just a local “dive” bar, but they had karaoke so it was perfect for Mike & Adam to relive their college days. (I guess they did karaoke alot? I wasn’t around then so I wouldn’t know, ha!) It was fun though. Mike & I ended the night by singing “Cleveland Rocks” – yes, we sang Cleveland Rocks in a Pittsburgh dive bar. We might be crazy. Or we just love our CLE. We did get hassled a little bit by this one lady, so we ended the song with the Cleveland Browns cheer… “Here We Go Brownies, Here We Go! Woof Woof!” It was hilarious – and daring. I also got a Vine video of Mike doingΒ karaoke, though I don’t think I can embed it so you could always visit my Twitter profile to find it if you want.

IMG_6612Luckily, we didn’t die! But we did hightail it out of that bar right after. That was pretty much the end of our night, though. Mike doesn’t drink so he was fine to drive home (minus being a bit tired). We didn’t feel like staying the night so we made the 2 hour trek home in the wee hours of the night. The next morning, Mike & I went to my mom’s house and made green eggs & corned beef hash.

St. Paddy's Day Green Eggs and Corned Beef HashThen we tried to go to Claddagh Irish Pub in Legacy Village – but we didn’t get there early enough and it was PACKED! Also, I was an idiot and forgot my ID. Ugh! We ended up just settling for Rockne’s in Strongsville, which ended up working out well because they had corned beef & cabbage – which is what Mike was wanting all day anyways! So we didn’t get to experience downtown or the parade, but it was still a decent day. One day I do want to go downtown for St. Paddy’s Day though. Maybe next year, as us Clevelanders always say? πŸ˜‰

The rest of this post will be categorized {mostly} using words that begin with the letter F. Don’t ask why, it just worked out that way!

FOOD.

I found this at Heinen’s and can’t wait to use it:

Terry Ho's Yum Yum Sauce from Heinen'sThe lady at the cashier said it was really good!

Some other foodie happenings lately:

Green Giant Multigrain Sweet Potato ChipsI’ve been seeing these Green Giant Sweet Potato Chips pop up all over the internet, and I finally found them in New Jersey so I could try them! They are delicious!

Rita's Italian Ice and Custard - GelatiI had my first gelati here in New Jersey! I’ve been to Rita’s in Ohio before, but never knew about this. I’m seriously in love. So good!

Frost Bitten Ice RieslingI recently tried my first Ice Wine (which is popular in the midwest) – this one wasn’t my favorite. I didn’t have much knowledge about Ice Wine when buying this, but it looked interesting so I thought I’d give it a try. However, I was able to try a better one while at my wine tasting class… but you’ll have to wait until my next blog post to hear about that! πŸ˜‰

Some more tea & tea fortunes:

FITNESS.

A few of my workouts lately:

Fitness CollageGot 3 PRs just from walking Mike’s mom’s dog, haha! Once I get back, it’s time to refocus on this & eating healthy. Also I feel like once I graduate I’ll really be able to buckle down, too.

FURRY FRIENDS.

Just a few snaps of our kitty Molly & a cute one of Mike’s mom’s pup, Sandy!

FASHION.

A couple of my outfits recently:

Fashion CollageI was really digging the middle outfit – nautical fun with a touch of gold πŸ™‚

This scarf from American Apparel is totally me. I love the purple, and I’m obsessed with infinity scarves! I may need to pick this up:

I’ve also been adding to my jewelry collection lately. I got these two Bubble Necklaces from GroopDealz:

I also picked up a couple items at Charlotte Russe during their $5 jewelry sale:

Warning about this one though – it’s a membership service, which I was not aware of when I purchased this. They will start charging you a membership fee after you make your first purchase. Luckily, their customer service was nice enough to refund the charge & cancel my account. I did still get a cute necklace out of it though. Another lesson learned. {If you like their jewelry though – it might be worth it to you to check this out!}

I guess that’s about it for all of the things going on in my life lately. Only a few more days of Spring Break left – it’s going by too fast!

Enough about me, tell me about what’s going on in your life!
