Happy National Running Day!


National Running Day, held annually on the first Wednesday in June, is a day when runners everywhere declare their passion for running.

National Running Day allows longtime and beginner runners alike to celebrate the sport and build connection and community between fellow runners of all ages and abilities, as well as attracts new participants. Whether runners join a group run for the hundredth or first time, spread the running bug to a friend, sign up for a race, or set a new goal, the day is meant to celebrate the reasons and people that make a running a special part of their lives.


I run for many reasons (weight loss, training for a race, because I like it, and more), but most of all, I run for a healthy heart. My heart health has been the catalyst of my journey since I started. I’ve still got a long ways to go to reach my goals & be a better runner, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come as well.

Running clears my mind and makes me feel better about myself and life no matter what I was dealing with before I started. Running is not only good for my physical health, it’s good for my mental health.

I’m so excited to get a run in tonight – it’s long overdue and well, National Running Day seems like a great day to get back into it! Am I right?
