Columbus Blue Jackets Social Station Experience

Our apartment is in full Blue Jackets mode right now, so I guess it’s a perfect time for me to tell you about our trip to the Columbus Blue Jackets Social Stationย two weekends ago!

Mike entered a contest sponsored by The Union Blue – and he won! (I guess that’s probably obvious…) We got 2 tickets to see the Columbus Blue Jackets play the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday, January 26th. Mike loves everything about the Blue Jackets, so he was absolutely ecstatic! I was excited to spend my second-ever Blue Jackets game in the social station, because if it wasn’t already obvious… I love being social/using social media. And even though I don’t know quite as much about hockey as Mike, I know enough to have a great time and get anxious during intense moments!

Here’s some photosย from the night:

It was the most fun we’ve had in a while! We’ve been so busy with school and work, and winter generally keeps you inside more, so it was a much-needed night out.ย Even though we ended up losing, this was a great game to be at. The action was great, and got especially intense towards the end. Although, according to Mike, Chicago got a little help from the refs ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Social Stationย was so much fun, and we wouldn’t have been able to go if it wasn’t for Union Blue – so a huge thank you to them! And to the Columbus Blue Jackets organization, as well. We were able to meet a lot of the people in the CBJ fan community, people from Union Blue, the Director of Social Media and Marketing for the Columbus Blue Jackets, and other fans who won tickets to the Social Station! Mike interacts with a lot of them on the Union Blue message boards as well as on Twitter, so it was really special for him. We also got to snack on free chips, popcorn, and soda too ๐Ÿ™‚ Stinger even stopped by the Social Stationย (as I mentioned earlier) and everyone was so excited to see him and get pictures!

We were so excited when we heard that the night of the game, the Columbus Blue Jackets were also going to have their autograph night!ย How lucky were we?ย We got autographs from James Wisniewski, Jack Johnson, Artem Anisimov, and John Moore! It was really awesome to get to meet a few of the players – they were so nice, and funny. I also got a couple great shots afterwards:

We can’t wait to get down to Columbus again for another Blue Jackets game! We’ll actually be going again on March 3rd to see them play the Colorado Avalanche as a belated celebration for Mike’s 25th birthday.
