It’s almost back-to-school time… If you’re a college student, you’re probably preparing dorm or apartment necessities, picking out which clothes to bring, and buying school supplies… but have you thought about your back-to-school beauty routine yet?
It’s important to have a solid back-to-school beauty routine as a college student or young professional – because whether we like it or not, first impressions still have a major impact on our success. Plus, when you look good, you feel good! I’m admittedly not a beauty expert, but even a simple skincare routine can do wonders. Whether you’re getting ready for classes or your first job, you’ll want to put your best face forward (see what I did there?). 😉
Growing up, I didn’t have severe acne, but I had enough to annoy me! I used some acne-treating products here and there but throughout college, I didn’t pay as much attention to my skincare as I wish I would have. Now that I’m considered a “young professional” in the career world, I wish I wasn’t still dealing with skin and acne issues and that I took the time to address them sooner.
When I realized I finally needed to be more diligent with my skincare and beauty routine, I knew I needed to figure out what my “essentials” would be. I wanted to stick to the basics and keep it really simple so I wouldn’t feel overwhelmed in the mornings or not be able to keep up with it. Like I said before, I am certainly not a beauty expert and you won’t find me with thousands of beauty items in my bathroom. I do feel it’s important to have some main go-to products for everyday use, though. My essentials are the following: facial cleanser, acne medication, facial moisturizer, foundation, mascara, and lip balm. It doesn’t get much simpler than that! I save my all-out beauty routine for weekends or special occasions (not going to lie – I value my sleep during the weekdays!). This makes it really easy for me to get ready for work in the mornings – everything I need is set out on the counter & ready to go.
To get my new beauty essentials kit started, I stopped by my local Target to pick up some new Clean & Clear products. They had 2 facial cleansers bundled – one for the morning and one for the evening – which is awesome! The Morning Burst facial cleanser is energizing and citrus-scented, which is perfect for groggy mornings. The Night Relaxing Deep Cleaning face wash helps to wind you down while also washing away daily build-up with deep sea minerals and sea kelp extract. Finally, the Dual Action Moisturizer keeps your face hydrated and zaps zits in the process! After applying this moisturizer, my skin felt so soft and smooth.
Now I feel excited to get ready in the morning knowing my skin is clean and energized, hydrated, and acne-free! Plus, when you shop for any Clean & Clear product at Target between now and August 22nd, you’ll receive 10% off any item! What a great way to get started on your back-to-school beauty shopping. I hope these tips have inspired you to get started on your own back-to-school beauty routine — it’s never too late to give your skin the attention it needs!
What are your favorite Clean & Clear products? Do you have a tried-and-true skincare routine? Do you love Target as much as I do?
Until next time…
